It was a bad travel day…it just wasn’t a good day in general. This was one of those situations as a parent and as an autism parent that we just wanted to throw in the towel and start over but we couldn’t. We managed to keep smiling but by the time we got in the car to go home we were just done. Autism on an airplane can be so hard for everyone because of the sensory issues, the anxiety, and the challenges it presents. Without a doubt it is hardest on Abbie and that’s what really breaks our hearts. On the good side of it all…the world is a far more accepting and understanding place than you might assume.
