Our message to parents

Dear parents, carers,
We want to guide you on, if you suspect that your child might have Autism, ADHD, learning difficulty, or in general any neuro development disorder or neuro disability.
Please Seek early advice.

Advice, and assessment can be requested from a Health visitor, your GP and some cases school nurses. They are the professionals who could arrange an appropriate referral to a Child Development Centre for assessment and intervention.

Most parents are observant; if they suspect neuro development issues, my advice is, do not wait more than 3-4 months to acquire a diagnosis. Time is of the essence and crucial in case of children’s growth and development.

Early diagnosis, early intervention brings a better outcome. Children are growing you should try your best to address your concerns if you have any.

Of course your best route and approach is NHS setups, but unfortunately, there are hundreds, thousands of cases which need to be assessed and therapeutic support provided.

And after assessment, once the diagnosis has been established, then the difficult task begins of support for the child. Support should be in the form of regular therapeutic support, up to the mark in some cases intense. Otherwise, provision is unsatisfactory and likely to fail.

Please note NHS wait lists are long and under pressure. There is a severe shortage of resources, waiting time could be lengthy. If even the NHS could take the case, but their provision of therapeutic sessions may not be sufficient. For example, in a case of Autism 4-6 sessions of speech therapy per month is not enough.

That’s the reason my advice to parents, take matters into your hands. Explore all the available sources, one of the most important your role may be with the help of professionals, is to educate, train your selves to do speech therapy with your Autistic child. You are available 24/7, can give your child 1:1 support instead 1 to 30 or 60.

In our set up ,if the parents are not in position to continue with the therapy sessions, and if required we will train and provide learning resources for the parents  to continue the therapeutic sessions uninterrupted.

What parents should expect the provision care and support from state funded organisations for their child’s particular problem. What they can achieve if they look for private care and treatment.

Dear parents and colleague please note that my majority of cases I see in my practice are children on Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Asperger Syndrome and ADHD. With research evidence and my own experience of decades early intervention in these cases brings much better outcomes than late intervention. Therefore my clear message to the parents who are a good observers of their child’s growth and development that if you suspect or are in doubt about Autism, ADHD, or any developmental problem.

Please seek advise and help early. Early intervention and therapeutic measures are very effective and beneficial, especially with children with Autism.

Go and speak to your health visitor, school nurse, teachers and of course your GP and seek guidance.

Most of the parents won’t know about the stages of intervention for special educational needs provision including statement of special educational need if their child needs it. Again I will guide and advise how they can approach the local authorities and get support for Child Development.

My interest/sub-speciality are neuro-disabilities and neuro-developmental delays due to known causes such as insult to brain due to birth trauma, premature birth, Genetic/Chromosomal disorders, inherited syndromes and disorders, metabolic disease causing neurodevelopmental deficiency. Also neurodevelopmental delay due to serious illnesses or accidents.

Emotional and psychological reasons causing behavioural and psychological problems, or in some cases no identified cause at all.

Parents please note that unfortunately most of the above mentioned disabilities and disorders are long term problems.

With accurate or near accurate diagnosis, right timely intervention and approach of the problem excellent and appreciable improvement can be achieved, I can say with my experience and confidence that improvement could be even achieved near normalcy. To achieve that goal I guide parents with best evidence based intervention and approach for maximum benefit and gain.

Guide them with best therapeutic intervention privately and through local authorities.
